About you


You are motivated and passionate about science and the future of food. You have a solid scientific background and can use that knowledge to assist our clients in building the evidence they need to support the safety of their products and to pass regulatory approval. You can also use your scientific background to interpret current regulatory frameworks and anticipate regulatory authorities’ questions based on the type of food or feed product and the technology by which it is produced. You have excellent attention to detail and care about the quality of the work that you prepare. You are customer and team focused and can think outside the box to solve problems and you
see the bigger picture. You are eager to learn and develop new skills and knowledge and possess a can-do attitude.


Critical experience


• Project management
• MSc & PhD in a relevant discipline
• +3 years regulatory experience with novel foods and preparation and submission of dossiers
• Excellent written and spoken English


Nice to have:


• Toxicology expertise
• Fluent in another language
• GMO experience


About the job


As a regulatory scientist you will be responsible for the following:


Project management:


• Delivering accurate and exceptional quality regulatory advice, reports and dossiers.

• Keeping project management tools up to date and keeping clients informed.
• Responding to clients and regulators in a timely manner.
• Preparing meeting agendas and leading client meetings.
• Coordinating studies on behalf of clients.
• Tracking and meeting project budgets.
• Delivering projects within agreed timelines.
• Engaging and liaising with other relevant stakeholders and building relationships.
• Representing Atova at events.

Technical work:

• Assessing the regulatory feasibility of novel food and feed ingredients and manufacturing processes, providing        advice to clients on the different routes to market, costings, timelines, regulatory red flags and probability of                regulatory success.
• Assessing the novel status of novel food and feed ingredients in the EU, USA, Singapore,
  Australia and New Zealand, Canada and other markets.
• Providing regulatory strategic advice on pathways, costings, and timelines to market.
• Performing data audits and gap analyses and helping clients to understand which studies are
  required for regulatory approval.
• Building regulatory roadmaps and strategies.
• Performing literature reviews and assimilating safety narratives.
• Providing advice on study design.
• Reviewing studies and study data and interpreting in the context of food/feed safety to support pre-market                 approvals.
• Keeping up to date with regulations and guidance documents in relevant jurisdictions.
• Keeping up to date with scientific advances in regulatory science.
• Preparing and submitting regulatory exceptional quality dossiers in compliance with all
  relevant regulations and guidance documents.
• Providing post-submission support to clients and responding to requests for information in a strategic and timely     manner.
• Being the point of contact between our clients and the regulatory authorities.
